Two new Premier League prices announced for 2021/22 – News
Thunderbolt goals and the uncertainty of not knowing how a match will turn out are two of the key ingredients that make the Premier League so enjoyable for millions of fans around the world. This season, those elements will be celebrated with two new rewards provided by Oracle, the Premier League’s official cloud provider. Oracle uses advanced performance data and machine learning to deliver real-time match statistics, delivering a deeper understanding of live action to vast global audiences.
The Most Unlikely Return price is based on the Win Probability statistic developed by Stats Perform, which calculates a team’s chances of getting a win or a draw by simulating the rest of the game 100,000 times. The model is based on four years of match data and takes into account whether a team is home or away, current score, penalties awarded, players on the pitch, red cards and time remaining in the game. match. The probability of winning is calculated every minute for every Premier League game in a season, in real time.
“Using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, we will apply advanced data science and machine learning to examine both teams’ odds of winning every minute of every game in the 2021/22 season,” said Ariel Kelman, vice president. executive and chief marketing officer of Oracle. “The data will tell us which team had the least likely comeback of the year.”
The winner of this prize will go to the team that came back to win under the most unlikely circumstances, or where there was the lowest probability of victory.
The Most Powerful Goal award will be given to the goal scored in the Premier League this season that has the fastest average speed from the ball kicked in to crossing the goal line. Only goals scored from outside the area, without deflections by another player, will be taken into account for the award.
Find out later this week if Brentford are in the running for one of those awards. With the final day of the Premier League season yesterday, more awards were handed out.
