Computing acquired by the Channel Company

Computing and its sister titles CRN and Overview of distribution partners were acquired today by a leading US technology media company The chain company.

The chain company bought the three brands of the British company Incisive media.

The new owner serves IT leaders in the United States through its Midsize Enterprise Services brand. distribution company CEO Blaine Raddon said the ability to tie the brand to Computing created the opportunity to build ”a powerful, connected and global community of end users”.

The 40 year old man distribution company is best known for its market leader CRN brand in the United States. The acquisition of the British company CRN brings together the two versions on both sides of the Atlantic. Raddon said it would “bring substantial benefits to our audience and our customers.”

Raddon added: ”Overall, the acquisition results in a leadership position for The chain company in content and events in the US and EMEA.”

The chain company is supported by investment funds managed by the American company Eagle Tree Capital.

A second Eagle Tree company, Bowacquired the rest of Incisive media, including its stable of UK-based finance and sustainability stocks. These include Investment Week and CompanyGreen.

Bow is a global events, data and media platform best known in the UK for its portfolio of agricultural stocks, including market leading title Farmer’s Guardian and associated events.
