It’s here! InterAction is delighted to announce the launch of its revamped Results Based Protection (RBP) website. Click on HERE to check it.

Why revamp the RBP website?

Since we first designed our RBP website in 2012, we have worked diligently to provide members and partners with resources that promote results-based approaches to protection. So far, we’ve collected nearly 200 resources, including tools, reports, assessments, webinars, podcasts, and more.

The old website served us well for many years and helped raise awareness of the importance of using outcome-based approaches to achieve protection results. However, it was not designed in a user-friendly or engaging way. The circa-2010 design aesthetic didn’t help either. Some features were clunky due to outdated website features and there were few opportunities to showcase new RBP resources, like our collection of case examples demonstrating RBP in practice and the recent launch Assessment Framework for the Prevention of Gender-Based Violence (PEF GBV). Additionally, the website was not designed for multilingual users or non-English speakers, which limits who can access and explore the many resources available. All of these shortcomings highlighted the need for a revamped website.

Our work on results-based protection has grown exponentially since 2012 through increased interest and use by NGOs, donors, academics and others. As a result, the InterAction RBP team, with funding from the Swedish Development Cooperation Agency (Sida)embarked on a quest to develop a new, attractive and user-friendly website.

So what’s up? How is it different from the old RBP website?

Starting with the Home page, we have restructured the organization of our site so that frequently requested documents and questions about RBP can be found at the click of a button. If you are new to RBP, you can start by clicking on the links to the right to see the documents selected for you depending on whether you are a protection actor, non-protective actor, humanitarian leadershipor one giver. There is something for every taste. You can also watch a short video explaining RBP and find out what kind of resources offered by the RBP website.

In response to the many requests we have received to make our materials available in languages other than English, the new website is available in 4 languages: English, French, Spanish and Arabic.

The new website also hosts a user-friendly interface resource library is packed with tools, reports, assessments, tip sheets, webinars and other resources that promote results-based approaches to protection. These resources were developed by InterAction, along with our members and partners. The updated search engine and filters will allow you to easily access specific resources or simply browse according to your interests.

Additionally, with the recent launch of the Gender-Based Violence Prevention Assessment Framework, a landing page for the GBV PEF will allow you to quickly find useful information so you can dive deeper into the four GBV modules. PEF. Another important feature of the new website is that it provides a portal to our Community of practice (CoP) for those using VBG PEF or planning to use within the next 12 months. In the CoP, you can connect with other practitioners using GBV PEF in various contexts, share knowledge, ask questions and learn from each other’s experiences.

Finally, you may have seen our May 2021 post, Mindshift: A Collection of Examples that Drive Protection Outcomes, a collection of real-life case examples of RBP in action. Due to the massive interest and requests for such case examples, we have added a dedicated area on the new website to showcase these case examples as well as others that our team continuously produces. They all show how NGOs around the world have adopted and are using the key elements of RBP to achieve reduced risk protection results. Similar to the Resource Library, the Sample Cases home page features a search engine with helpful filters so you can easily find the sample(s) you are looking for.

With all the new and improved features of the RBP website, we hope you enjoy interacting with it as much as we do.

Have you ever visited the website while reading this blog? We’d love to hear your thoughts. Favorite page? Favorite feature? Something else you would like to see? Let us know, we’re listening!
